Barrel fermented Chardonnay from the Rathmine Single Vineyard In Echunga. A rich and flavoursome wine with notes of white peach, melon and subtle oak aromas, and the palate is balanced with prominent citrus and white peach flavours, lemon, lime oatmeal and gingers spice. This wine will build buitifully with 3 to 5 years of bottle age.

Inspired by the great Sangiovese & Cabernet Sauvignon blends of the old world, this wine is our first super-premium offering under the Coulter Wines banner. Both varieties are from the One Tree Hill Vineyard that features clay soils over a limestone base, at an elevation of 250m above sea level. The blend is showing abundant bright fruit, liquorice, sweet spice, and tertiary flavours all held together by a powdery tannin profile and a robustly structured spine of acid. Enjoy now or cellar thoughtfully to develop over the next 10 years.

This wine is part of an Export project I have commenced with a view to sending the majority of the wine to the United States. The Perihelion brand is based on sustainability. The fruit is grown in vineyards that use sustainable practices. The bottles are lightweight, the labels are 100% recycled sugar cane, and the capsules and cartons are produced with 40% recycled materials – this all contributes to a reduced carbon footprint.
